Food at the Three Horseshoes Inn

We use local suppliers for our meats, particularly game which is brought in by gamekeepers, including pheasant, partridge, rabbit, venison, and pideon when in season.

Local fisherman bring in trout all other fish comes from M & J Seafoods & Birmaingham Fish Market. We buy locally produced eggs, potatoes & vegetables. Growing herbs and tomatoes and salads ourselves during the summer. Our style of cooking is simple country food, using fresh ingredients. We make all our own Chutneys, pickles & jams – pickled damsons and spiced pears being favourites with ploughmans lunches for which we use some local cheeses.

One dish which is not local but has become a speciality is Cataplana the Portuguese fish stew which we have eaten on holiday and loved. We brought the special cooking dishes back with us, and produce as near as we can the flavour of the Algarve. We were highly commended in the Flavours of Herefordshire Awards 2008.
